CORONAVIRUS: THE LATEST
BY EASTER... President Trump has grown increasingly frustrated with the lagging economy — and wants the country up and running by Easter (April 12). This would mean relaxing restrictions aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19, a goal top health experts — and governors — deem premature. Bill Gates has calling it “very irresponsible.” (Gates also warned us of the “next outbreak” years ago.) Dr. Anthony Fauci gave a more measured timeline: “You can look at a date but you have to be very flexible.” UP & UP The stock market got a much-needed reprieve. Stocks rallied on news that the Trump administration and Senate Democrats neared a deal on the coronavirus stimulus plan. The Dow Jones soared more than 2,000 points, while the S&P 500 Index had its biggest daily gain since 2008. The Nasdaq composite rose 8.1 percent. A deal was expected Tuesday, but there are a few sticking points, like food stamps and airline assistance…

Kindness...is in bloom: Florists are doing what they can to brighten up peoples’ days during this pandemic — with flowers from canceled events. One company “flower-bombed” Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia with truckloads of flowers, while floral designer Sweet Root Village sold extra flowers in a drive-thru fundraiser in Alexandria, Virginia.
